BPO industry venturing in other countries – Should India be worried?

With other countries rapidly becoming the destination for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, is there concrete and valid reason for India to be worried? Is India facing stiff competition from other countries in Asia, Africa or some in South America? The answer is in affirmative. Yes, there are various countries in recent past has been the favorite location for clients around the world. But there is no need to press the panic button. The reason behind this is that India will remain the attractive location because of its talented workforce.

India is considered and surely will be considered as a vast pool of talented BPO workforce with a very good understanding of latest technology. The proficient BPO employees of India can easily deal with customers around the world. The key factor which make India stand out from other is that people in India can speak Good English, which is now considered as the global language.

As the labor cost increases day by day there is perception that India is going to lose its number one position in outsourcing industry. To combat this BPO companies in India are venturing into small towns and other rural areas which will help them in hiring less expensive workers without compromising on talent. As a result, job opportunities in those areas are increasing.

As India has a huge workforce it will sustain the competition from other countries thereby increasing the ways of investment in outsourcing industry.
